Job Description

Full-Time

Provides basic medical care, minor injury care and assists with designated procedures under direction of physician and/or registered nurse. Assists with screening protocols; maintains documentation and performs related clerical duties. Practices and adheres to all Service Excellence and 6 star non-negotiable standards to provide the best patient experience.

1.Education and Training
*Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
*MA certification within 6 months of hire.
*BLS required.

2.Experience
One (1) year related medical office experience; or 160-hour externship completed within the last five years in a medical/office setting.

3.Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
*Ability to collect samples (eg, blood, throat cultures, etc.) and to perform limited tests of such.
*Ability to operate microscope, cameras, videotape, etc.

4.Physical Requirements
-Requires full range of body motion which may include handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
-Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
-Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
-May require exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment, such as risk of falls, strains, etc.

5.Population Specific Competency
The incumbent will have the ability to effectively interact with populations of the patient (and his or her representative) with a sensitivity to the communication needs (other language, deaf or blind) and with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
