What You Will Do:
University of Maryland Shore Regional Health laboratories offer a full spectrum of diagnostic services.
LPN will be responsible for electrocardiography (EKG's), phlebotomy, test order entry, order checking, and obtaining appropriate ICD-10 codes.
On a daily basis, our skilled laboratory professionals conduct routine outpatient tests including CBC (Complete Blood Count), Pro-time, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Glucose, Coronary Risk Profile, Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), Hemoglobin A1C, Urinalysis and Occult Blood. Our phlebotomists obtain needed samples with minimal stress from patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric.
We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Team:
Receives outside specimens, forwards to laboratory.
Maintains patient logs.
Performs order checking of laboratory requisitions.
Rotate to off-sites as required.
Takes refrigerator and other temperatures and records appropriately. Reports any issues to supervisor.
Assists with clerical duties and registration duties, as required.
Stocks collection areas, maintains neat and clean workstation.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Meets LPN licensing requirements to practice in the State of Maryland. Satisfactory completion of a Pharmacology course and demonstrated ability to administer medications.
