JobTitle: Licensed Practical Nurse

Roles &Responsibilities:

  • Performs job duties undersupervision of a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Demonstrates a competentlevel of technical skill
  • Makes recommendations in theapplication of the nursing process
  • Participates in planning, andadministers direct patient care
  • Performs nursing proceduresas defined in the nursing procedure manual
  • Administers medication asdefined in nursing policy
  • Transcribes orders asnecessary
  • Carries out physicians andnursing orders
  • Makes, reports and recordsobservations on assigned patients
  • Observes and reports anysigns and symptoms of change in a patient's condition to the appropriate person
  • Participates in healthteaching to patients and families
  • Establishes an environmentthat promotes optimum physical and emotional comfort
  • Contributes specified data tonursing data base
  • Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma or general education diploma (GED) required
  • 1+ year as Licensed Practical nurse preferred
  • Licensed and currently registered or otherwise dulyauthorized to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
  • BCLS/BLS certification required
